History of Shri taley Mohammad khan silver jubilee & Sha manchand Menanchand Eye Hospital Trust
On occasion of the silver jubilee of palanpur’s navab shri taley Mohammad khan rule of palanpur state collected some mony and gifted it to the nawabsahed as a token of respect. Palanpur state being a border state and near the desert area, eye related problems and diseass were very common with the residents of the state.so with the objective of providing good eye care treatment to the needy patient , nawabsahed decided to have a good eye hospital in palanpur. A jain merchant of that time shri chamanlal manchandhai also joined withnawabsahed in the mission and dinated a substantial sum in his father’s name.
Nawabsaheb added equal amount of the gift money receiver on occasion of silver jublee to the fund and from this fund he acquired total 40,000 Sq .feet open land in heart of the city and constructed an eye hospital . on 14th may 1948 shri taley mohammad silver jubilee and shah manchand mananchand eye hospital lbulding of about 15000 Sq .feet was inaugurated. Dr.haribhai parekh who was appointad as the first eye surgeon,took this hospital with great compassion and philanthropy. Today even after 68 year large and surrounding areas of palanpur including rajasthan facility.
With the passage of time and the need to upgrade the facilities the trust came up with an appeal to the donors for constructing a new building and add new department of general medicine along with existing ophthalmology of department .innresponse to the trust’s appeal shri shantilal
M Mehta shri navinchandra D Mehta and shri dilipbhai D Mehta came forword for the noble cause and showed interest in the project.he trust welcomed the offer and in a period if 2 year the new 30000 sq.ft hospital building named “SAMARPAN” hospital ,is now ready for the purpose.
The new samarpan hospital is equipped with most modern facilities and latest technology, having two operation theater, I.C.U wards, digital X-ray machine ,air conditioned specialty room with 40 beds capacity
Free eye checkup camps are regularly organized with the help of our donors. Notable among them, every year in month of august kantilal chimanlal mehata(bhai) free eye camp is organized continusly since 17 year and taraben mulchandbhai charitable trust eye camp in the month of Desember/January since last 5 year . we are thankful to bhai’s family and shri mehulbhai for their generous help and hope to receiv their support in the year to come.
